Conference description:

Since the end of the Kosovo war the international Community, through its Stability Pact and the EU through its stabilization and Assocaition Process have stressed the importance of regional cooperation among the states of South-East Europe as a key instument to promote economic development. This conference will explore the theoretical and empirical foundations for this policy and the key issues and problems involved in its implementation.Specific sessions will focus on different aspects of regional cooperation such as the determinants of and barriers to the inter-regional trade in goods and services and the role of foreign direct investment. This IUC event is supported through a grant from Friedrich Naumann Stiftung.
