Course description:

In year 2000 a revised version of the guidlines of the standardised classification of chest radiographs of pneumoconioses has been published by ILO.In this course informations are given on occupatinal diseases caused by asbestos and quartz containin dusts, different regulation and compensation issues in Europe, strategies for early detection of asbestos and quartz related diseases and about usefulness of high resolution CT in te diagnosis of pneumoconioses. Standard radiographs are presented and the classification system should be applied by all participants in a lot of teaching films. At the end of the course participants should have an overview on the asbestos and quartz issue in general,and should be oble to apply the ILO-classification in asbestos and quartz related disorders. In a final test the particints are able to check their skills.
