An independent international centre for advanced studies

The course is about the discussion of "anthropology" in philosophy of religion. In recent years fundamental questions of anthropology have been discussed because of new insights into the human brain and consciousness. So classical discourses about the body-mind-complex have been taken up again. At the same time there are still open anthropological questions resulting from the vivid discussions in bioethics. Unfortunately in these recent discourses the anthropological resources of the classical traditions in philosophy of religion and theology are neglected. Questions of anthropology always have been in the focus of philosophy of religion. The course concentrates on the diverse aspects of anthropology insofar they are relevant for philosophy of religion and theology and attempts to find answers to the questions of the present in the richness of the history of the mind.
